He has been a speaker and moderator at numerous industry seminars and trade shows. In 2002, Mr. Harte joined Althos as the managing director and in 2003, Mr. Harte became president of Althos. At Althos, Mr. Harte is responsible for the research, training, and publishing divisions. His core focus at Althos is researching, analyzing, testing, and educating companies on alternative communication technologies.
Between 1995 and 2002, Mr. Harte was the president of APDG, a telecommunications research and publishing company. At APDG, he provided telecommunications information to leading companies including Sprint PCS, Delphi (GM), Vodafone, British Telecom, LHS, Radiocommunication Agency, DST, Sony, Ericsson, AT&T, and many others.
Between 1994 and 1995, Lawrence was Vice President of product management for ReadyCom, a cellular voice paging equipment provider. At ReadyComm, Mr. Harte managed product development for cellular voice paging subscriber products. At ReadyComm, he performed market and technical feasibility analysis for new product development and application areas. He designed a product management process for tracking the development of programs and ensured products could met industry and government requirements.
From 1992 to 1994, Lawrence was the New Products and Applications Manager for Ericsson General Electric. As a product manager, he created and managed a core team of line organization managers to develop new product plans. His responsibility included cellular telephone development for PCS, cellular data modems, CDPD, OEM product management, and other new product concepts. Lawrence worked closely with customers such as AT&T, Southwestern Bell, Cantel, and Cellular One during the new product launch of TDMA digital cellular service.
Between 1989 and 1992, Lawrence was a Digital Cellular Development Engineer at Audiovox Corporation. In this position, he was the liaison between digital industry standards committees, engineering at Toshiba Japan, and customers. During this period, He was a voting member of the Telecommunications Industry Association and an editor of the US Digital Cellular Specification (IS-54, now IS-136). Lawrence supported the sales staff with customers including BMW, BellSouth, Nynex, PacTel (now Airtouch), Bell Atlantic, Southwestern Bell, Bell Mobility (now Bell Canada) and others for technical and marketing issues.
From 1986 to 1989, Mr. Harte was an Automatic Test Equipment Engineer for Test System Associates on site at Westinghouse. At the Westinghouse facility, he converted technical performance requirements into electronic interface devices and created software programs for automatic testing of FB-111 avionics communication equipment.
Between 1977 and 1985, Lawrence was an Electronics Technician in the US Navy which included calibration laboratory supervisor for microwave and RF up to 18 GHz and UHF communication supervisor for the USS Independence.
